陳健民：以知識介入社會的學者

陳健民於一九八三畢業於香港中文大學社會學系，大學時期愛讀書，但更熱衷於學生運動。畢業後當了幾年社區工作者，為弱勢群體奔走，體驗到社會的種種問題，立志要在思想與制度層面上推動改革。八八年獲美國耶魯大學獎學金，於該校社會學系隨民主研究權威 Juan Linz與中國研究先驅 Deborah Davis攻讀政治社會學及中國研究，九五年獲授博士學位。自九三年起，陳健民任教於香港中文大學社會學系，現為該系副教授及中大香港亞太研究所公民社會研究中心主任, 興趣集中在華人社會公民社會與民主的發展。陳健民熱愛教學，多次被大學與學生組織評為最佳講師。 在公共服務方面, 陳健民為中山大學社會學系客座教授、博士導師 及人類學系公民與社會發展研究中心理事長。他亦出任中國民政部中民慈善捐助信息中心學術顧問, 人民大學非營利組織研究中心理事, 北京市西部陽光農村發展基金會顧問, 中國紅十字會李連杰壹基金專家義工. 在香港方面，曾出任港台自由風客席主持、廉政公署社區研究小組委員會成員、愛滋病顧問局促進社會接納愛滋病患者委員會、特區政府中央政策組非全職顧問、現為香港民主發展網絡學者組召集人及公民教育基金會董事。
