陳健民：以知識介入社會的學者
陳健民於1983畢業於香港中文大學社會學系，大學時期愛讀書，但更熱衷於學生運動。畢業後當了幾年社區工作者，為弱勢群體奔走，體驗到社會的種種問題，立志要在思想與制度層面上推動改革。1988年獲美國耶魯大學獎學金，於該校社會學系隨民主研究權威 Juan Linz與中國研究先驅 Deborah Davis攻讀政治社會學及中國研究，1995年獲授博士學位。自1993年起至2018年底，陳健民任教於香港中文大學，曾任社會學系副教授、中國研究服務中心主任及香港亞太研究所公民社會研究中心主任， 興趣集中在華人社會公民社會與民主的發展。陳健民熱愛教學，多次被大學與學生組織評為最佳講師。 曾在中國大陸和香港出任多項公職和協助創辧多個NGO。現為香港公民教育基金會董事及香港民主發展網絡執委。2013年3月與戴耀廷及朱耀明推動<讓愛與和平佔領中環>運動，宣揚非暴力公民抗命，為2014年底<雨傘運動>撒種。
